Tintin Tarantino

Hehe. I guess the only reason his mother didn’t name him Tintin, is because Tintin Tarantino sounds a lot more awesome than Quentin Tarantino. And that would have added to the already latent awesomeness in her son, to produce over-awesomeness not suitable for human consumption.

Anywho, it’s this muchacho’s birthday today! Different people watch Tarantino flicks for different reasons. I watch them for the quirky soundtracks. My absolute favorite is Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood, used to VERY good effect here:

Of course, many watch his films for his so-cool-you-don’t-even-understand-it style.

Happy bardday Quentin! Hope those kids behave and stop censoring your movies for screening them on TV, they can just put them at a late-night slot, duh.

  1. HAHA! So if you watch TARANTINO movies for the quirky soundtracks, then you MUST listen to 'Smokey Bandits'! "Bass lines come and go, trumpets sitting lazy in the living room, accordions and trombones melting around.."

    1. Hehe, glad that u think the same too :)
And you must have seen Kill Bill, I'd recommend Pulp Fiction & Grindhouse: Death Proof.

  4. Aah that man sure knows how to pick his soundtracks. There's a pretty neat video on Youtube - its a little B&W short film, first one he made, which is basically just all the gags he would later use in pulp fiction and reservoir dogs. Its strangely comforting to know even the talented ones have formulae.

    1. Found a film called My Best Friend's Wedding, hilarious in parts, typical him. And yes it's comforting, but finding that formula which clicks: doesn't happen all that often.

  5. Yup, that's it, couldn't remember the title- I love the bit about the writing on the cake! Re: formulae - I think the trick is to find one that suits you and just stick to it for a while. I know that sounds very non-proactive or whatever but if you're good, you're good.
